This responsive website was created to restore some credibility to Shark Week as fans grew cynical about the factual nature and transparency of Shark Week’s programming. Our concept was to create the ultimate web resource for information about sharks, and we delivered that in spades. Sharkopedia boasts an abundance of information and helped Discovery’s Ad Sales team boost their ad inventory starting with Shark Week 2015. The design draws inspiration from trendy full panel design patterns and is backed by a sturdy CMS to make adding and updating content pleasant and easy. Content from Sharkopedia was also utilized on-air during Shark Week with consistent branding between TV and web.
As Art Director on this project, I ensured overall quality of the design and implementation from inception to completion. I worked in partnership with the Creative Director and our in-house client to develop the concept. Lead the UX process and provided meaningful feedback about design and experience.
